My recipe is :

Norwegian Cookies

1 cup sugar

1cup butter or margarine

1 egg

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp almond extract

2 cups flour

1/2 cup finely-chopped walnuts

sugar

Preheat oven to 350F . In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and extracts: beat until light and fluffy. Add flour and nuts and beat until just moistened. Cover and chill until firm enough to handle. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake until cookies are set.

My recipes:

Cookie Salad ( my kids love this and its their favorite!!)

1 cup milk

1 (3 3/4 oz) Vanilla Instant Pudding

1 8 oz Cool Whip

2 Bananas

1 (4 oz ) can Mandarin Oranges

1/2 package of Oreo Cookies, about 14 of them. Or Fudge Striped ones work good too.

Mix Pudding with milk, as cool whip. Refrigerate over night or a few hours. Add Fruit, return and return to fridge for a few hours if you can. Just before serving add crushed cookies and fold in.

Fast Fruity Delight

3/4 cup boiling water

1pkg Jello Raspberry, (3oz)

1 cup cool whip

Add boiling water to jello, mix in large bowl, Stir two minutes until completely dissolved. Add berries : stir until jello thickens. Stir 1/2 cup of the jello mixture into cool whip, and whisk until well blended. Spoon into 4 dessert dishes. Cover with remaining jello mixture. Refrigerate 15 minutes or until set.

Now my first project I used the Dress Box. A ribbon scarft and hat, and some pearls for buttons and you have a snowman. This box easily will hold a gift card or some candy or little lip glosses, all kinds of little presents.

My next project I used the popcorn boxes. So easy and fun!

For my projects I used the Cake box from Creative Cuts and More. 4 of the 12 boxes I used were cut in Acetate. I then filled the box with curling ribbon, you could use candy or little trinkets. Its a fun clear see through look. Also with this project I used Killer Red Tacky Tape, I love this tape! Through Terry you get such a great deal compared to if you bought at Micheals.

The second cake slice I just put ribbon around the box, and added a little football to the top, that I got at Party City, and it would be a cute party favor in individual slices too. The ribbon for this cake was bought at Micheals.

Pink and Brown Baby Favor Cake

I made this cake for the Cardvarks Wedding and Baby Challenge sponsored by Creative Cuts and More. I was supposed to have this in as a designer for Creative Cuts and More and have been having really bad email problems sending pictures. Anyway here is what I designed, a baby cake using pinka nd brown with a baby block on top spelling baby. I used the Cake Set from Creative Cuts and More. I decided to do a Ladybug Birthday Theme. So what I did was make a Birthday cake, a ladybug favor box and a cupcake topper. All of my projects were put together using Killer Red Tacky Tape. You can find this here. This is the best deal for Tacky Tape to be found anywhere!!!!

The cake was made using the cake set that you can find here: Cake Slice Set, I used my cricket to make the number 3 for the block. The ribbon and flowers are from Micheals and the ladybug is from Hallmark.

Wow!! Its been a long time since I have blogged! I need to start keeping up with this better. I think I was sidetracked with facebook. Amanda has a baby shower this weekend and wanted me to make her a paper cake. I had so much fun making this! I used the cake box set from Creative Cuts and More here. I made the cake stand by just turning a margerita glass upside down and adding the duck and rocks and sealed it up and it was done! The baby block spells DASH the babies name.

I had a lot of fun making this little Hula Dancer from a 3D dress box from Creative Cuts and More! I think it would be cute for a Hawaiian Lua as party favors. This box opens up to hold little trinkets or candy. It could also be weighted down with sand and used as a balloon weight.

My family and I have adopted a few soldiers, we actually help send letters and care packages to 18 right now. It is a rewarding experience, and we have become friends with many of them already. Its so exciting to wake up in the morning and have emails from them from Iraq and Afganistan. It makes me so sad that some of them have no contact from home, and we are the only people writing them.. Anyway today I got the mail and Judy, a soldier stationed in Iraq sent me this beautiful handmade bowl from a market in Iraq. I was so blown away. Its beautiful in person. The hand painting in the middle is breathtaking up close.

Well over the weekend Scrap4Life had a weekend Spring theme crop, and I actually won by doing 12 layouts, and 3 cards, I actually finished all the challenges!!! I was quite happy with myself!!! So below are a few of my favorites, and yeah I am still scrappin the adorable neighbor kids.

Also today I found out two of my layouts are being published in Scrapbook.com Magazines May issue! I have never had anything published anywhere before so I was very excited, still am! Today was a beautiful day in Denver, I think it was almost 75 or so.

I finished all the challenges posted at Scrap4life for March, a record for me!!!! And its early in the month and I might just go back and do them again!!!!

Photography Challenge: Show Spring in your area of the country, I took this by the elementary school, wanting to show the hot air balloon but you can't see it, but you do see the bare foothills, with snow on the mountain peaks, and to my surprise a little red robin in the lower right hand corner, a sure sign of spring!!!

I am so excited, yesterday I found out I made it through all 4 rounds and I am know a official SCRAP 4 LIFE Design Team Member!!!!! This is the last challenge I made, I really didnt like it at all, I guess I just froze when I found out I had to alter something! But anyway this is what I did.

I was so excited to see I advanced to the 4th and final round at Scrap4Life! We had to make a paper piecing, I havent really ever done this before, but I got a little carried away and spent about 12 hours on this one, everything is pieced, the siding, the roof, I spent the most time on the roof, the window boxes pop out.. It was a little challenge, but I love it and want to do more! TFL!!!!

Wow! I am so excited I made it through the second round at Scrap4Life , for the DT tryouts. We had to make a holiday/season layout, not using traditional embelishments, so you couldnt use a christmas tree on a christmas layout for example. I made a winter layout, I love these pictures of Tommy and Jake when they were little, Tommy was such a good big brother, pulling Jake around and trying to play lol. Well I'm off for Challenge 3 ! Wish me luck!

I made this using Laura's 2 Sketches 4 You Sketch. I couldnt find matching ribbon so I sewed the black onto the white, which was really easy. I thought I would give this to my friends married at Christmas time.

Week One Scrap 4 Life Design Team Try Outs and 3D design challenge

This weeks challenge at 3D Design Challenge Blog was to make a page or design for this awesome tote bag. I decided to make a 4 season interchangable insert that changes with the seasons. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. It is hooked in the middle so all 4 pieces stay together and can easily be flipped over and changed.

Scrap 4 Life DT Contest

I made this layout for the 1st week DT contest at Scrap 4 Life. Scrap 4 Life is a very fun message board with tons of challenges and contests, the nicest people ever, and a great store with quick service.

Our first challenge was to use circles on our background and only use alpha stickers. I really like how this turned out, the sewing around circles was a little crazy lol!

Now I'm off to work on round 2!

I made these cute little boxes from the challenge at: 3D Design Challenge Blog. Once I got the hang of it they were super easy. I had a little melt down making them lol. Just a minor one, screaming, a few bad words, nothing to nasty. I think I just am not thinking clearly yet or something. Anyway, I love how they turned out. I made them out of some paper in my stash, Pebbles Inc, from a dog kit. Its so funny because the kids know when the dogs have a birthday, Abby's is Sept 11th, and she will be 8 and Dakota turns 2 on November 1st. I grew up on a farm where we never knew how old are dogs were because they would just show up, and stay. And cats were a dime a dozen. But I love our pets. I think we will just buy a few little toys at the dollar store and stick them in the box.

Well I was supposed to go to the Poison concert last night because I am a huge huge fan of Bret but since I didnt want him to see me in a wheel chair or a old lady walker I gave my ticket to Jeff and he took Amanda. He didnt want to go but he had a awesome time, the next door neighbors ended up sitting right next to them . So when they got home they had a present for me, a t shirt and a pair of pink panties with "Fallen Angel" written on the butt lol. I guess thats about sums me up lol. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Update on Me and new Family Member

Well a few of you know that when I went on my trip to Cape Cod that I never made it out of NY. I arrived on Wednesday and Thursday morning I went out on the balcony for a second and as I turned around the sliding glass door shut and locked behind me. Well my so called friends (more on that in a minute) were at work already, and it started lightening and thundering. After a hour or so, and trying desperatly to open the window or door, I stupidly thought that if I go over the rail, slide with the railings down I would probably only drop a few feet or so. I slipped and fell 10 feet insteed and broke my femer. So there I was now in the dirt, in the bushes, it didnt hurt at all, but my foot was going one way and my knee the other and I freaked out and slid myself were someone could possibly see me. This little old lady found me and started screaming at me "what are you doing" over and over till I got her to get me a ambulance. Pain started horribly when then layed me out on the board, and cut my shorts and underwear off in the front yard lol, did I care at that point no way, My left leg was 3 inches shorter then my right. After a day of x-rays and cat scans they operated on me that night for 3 plus hours. So now I have a rod in my leg from my hip to my knee. I stayed in the hospital for a week and they wanted to keep me 3 more weeks for rehab. I insisted on going home though because................. my so called friend left me there for 3 days without visiting, when she did bring my cell phone after using it all those days I realized she stole over 180. dollars from me and it just sucked. I had to not say anything because I knew she was my only ride to the airport. Well when I finally got in her car to go to the airport she asked for 40. for gas money and some of my painpills. Can you believe that? I gave her 20 dollars and 2 painpills for my ride lol. Delta airlines was awesome because I had called them and told them what happened and they picked me up curbside in a wheel chair and switched my seat to a front row behind first class ( wow do you know how spoiled first class is, as I was eating my 5 peanuts, they had a 5 course meal, champagne, chocolate cake lol) . That flight is one I never want to take again, I have no cast so its just my leg in jeans , the thing swelled up 3 times bigger then my other leg.

Anyway I am home now and I went to the surgeon here who told me I am so not ready for rehab and I would of been crazy for staying 3 extra weeks , thank god I insisted I wanted to go home.

So I have weened myself off painpills except for one at night which makes me feel so much better mentally at least. Hopefully I can get some creative juices flowing while I am sitting around.

Week 4 of Make Me a Super Scrapper

For week 4 we had to use Piggy Tales and either use pink or brown to represent a pig lol. I figured since I live with a bunch of dirty boys this one would work good for me! I used all Piggy Tales on this except for a little ink and cardstock. I like how it turned out. I had to place the photos that way because when I finished making it, I realized that Tylers bike has a not so nice saying on it lol! Teenage boys!!!

Make Me A Super Scrapper Week 3

Well I finally have a laptop again, after sending the other one back, my husband buying me one in the meantime and that one crashing in 2 days. I am trying it again with laptop number 3. How frustrating!
I made this layout for the MMASS challenge. We had to use Doodlebug papers only. I love how the flower turned out. Everything on this page is from Doodlebug. Brads, paper, ribbon ext.

I have great exciting news to share soon. I cant wait! And then I also have a laptop with one payment left that has gone to heck. The screen is all full of lines and its sad when you almost have a nervous breakdown over something like this but its so frustrating! I am supposed to be getting a box prepaid to mail it back and have yet to see it. Sooooooooooo for now Its fighting the kids for the family computer. So my posts will be fewer for the next week. : (

I did not do one scrapbook related thing today! I am so tired and I cleaned all day and just hung out. I was excited to find out that I won the crop that I did do this weekend. First of all I had 2 layouts picked for Favorite Fridays at scrap 4 life! I love that lol. The Alien one and Amandas 18th birthday they are below. Also they are having a crop at Scrap 4 Life a baby shower themed crop and its so much fun!

Our cat Bandit loves scrapbook supplies. He will come running if he sees me with a Archivers bag and he hops on my bed and just waits. I catch him laying in the middle of all my stuff. He is a tough kitty who can take on our two Golden Retrievers lol, but he must have a creative side. I used a sketch from Page Plans and I used the color challenge from Scrap 4 Life.

These were for The Design X blog

This one was about your mother and what you recieved from her.
This one was a fear as a child. Seriously I was scared to death of Aliens sitting on our windmill. We saw a exhibit in Minneapolis when I was about 10 and it was all about that stuff and I couldnt shake it lol.
This was made for a scrapbook doodle challenge 6x12 size. using Rusty Pickly paper.
I made this for The Design X challenge and for a guest designer spot on Scrap 4 Life. Not sure if I made it. I kind of don't get my hopes up anymore lol.

For the design X blog it was about regrets and I do regret not traveling with my grandpa to Norway and for the Guest Designer spot it was where you would like to travel and why. I have lots more to post just putting final touches on things.

My father-in-law is getting put in the hospital for 6 weeks. He has MS and gets sores from sitting. They make him lay in a airbed deal which he calls his coffin. So the kids and I are going to send cards every other day or so from each kid and pictures and things. Hes in Sioux Falls SD and we are in Colorado so its not so easy to go see him much. But he is the most positive man I have ever met and I know he will go through this like a trooper!

Wow what a fun day! First of all it was Amandas 18 Birthday, and she went on a summer clothes shopping spree. I was lazy lol. All I wanted was to not drive anyone anywhere or pick up anyone! So Jeff grilled and was the picker upper all day. AND the best part of all is I GOT A CRICUT!!!! I about fell on the floor lol. About 2 years ago I had one and about 8 different cartridges and like a total idiot I didnt think I wanted it anymore and sold it all on Craigs List. RRRRRRRRRRR I could kick myself somedays. So now i'm starting over but I am so happy.

I did this layout using the sketch below from Page Plans, I flipped it sideways but I like it. I get so sentimental looking at my kids getting so big and scrapping them when they are little. Matt was only about 9 and now Jake is 9! Crazy huh!

Scrap 4 Life has really fun challenges and this one was to use mainly yellow as your color for your layout. I kind of like how it turned out. Im not sure about the flowers on a boy layout but I like it so thats all that counts right?

This weekend I participated in a online crop at Scrappinwithgrace and I was the overal Crop Winner! I won a Crate Paper Package! Wooo-Hoooooooo!!!! I love their message board and they have the nicest people there and the funnest challenges.
